1 What is NEET ?
Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) National Testing Agency (NTA) may organize NEET-UG 2019 Medical/ Dental entrance test for the academic year 2019 admission. Hon’ble Supreme Court has asked Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government that there must be only SINGLE Eligibility Entrance Exam for admission in MBBS/ BDS course through-out India apart from AIIMS and JIPMER Puducherry.
2 Eligibility criteria
The candidate must have passed Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination such that the last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology (which shall include practical tests in these subjects) and Mathematics or any other elective subject with English
A candidate who is appearing in the 12th Standard in 2019 can apply NEET 2019 but he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the MBBS or BDS, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required pass percentage of marks at the time of first round of Counselling
The Intermediate/Pre-degree Examination in Science of an Indian University/Board or other recognized examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology (which shall include the practical test in these subjects) and also English as a compulsory subject.
Percentage Criteria: Students must have secured minimum 50% marks in PCB group for general candidates and 45% (for general PH) and 40% (for SC/ST/OBC categories)
3 Age Criteria
According to the NEET-UG 2018 information bulletin, the applicant must be 17 years old and maximum age limit is 25 years. The candidate belonging to OBC/ ST/ SC candidate gets 5 years age relaxation on maximum age limit. You can always check your eligibility (DOB) by using NEET age calculator.
